About Dave Noddin

David is a chemical engineer by training and came to be a laser engineer by hobby. 20 years ago David was recruited to Supercomputer Systems Inc. by Bill after spending the previous 6 years developing advanced polymer composites. They've worked together ever since.

No detail for making cake pans is too small for Dave to dive into including metal procurement & metal forming, powder coating, and of course laser maintenance and advanced laser programming. "There is actually a lot to this business to keep my inner geek satisfied."

Our business has also enabled David to occasionally venture out into the public where he honestly enjoys meeting and learning from our truly nice customers.

About Bill Petefish

Bill never thought he would be making and selling personalized cake pans... A chemical engineer by trade, Bill started out working for Intel in the integrated circuit business. He moved to Wisconsin to work in the supercomputing field for Cray Research and in 1987 was co-founder of a company called Supercomputer Systems Inc.

By 1993, he, David and 6 other guys started a company which was eventually rolled into WL Gore and Associates. The team turned it into a $42 million per year business, employing over 300 people. The division was purchased by 3M from Gore in 2000.

Bill and David decided that the tech industry was a little too cyclical for their tastes and began to seek other options. After David Noddin bought the engraving business in 2002, he asked Bill to join him and help grow the business.

Bill loves this business and loves making customers happy. "After spending 20 years in electronics business living with Moore's law regarding constantly shrinking dimensions and increasing performance, I love cake pans because they stay the same darn size year after year."
